Through the Bible: ProverbsSample

Living a Good Life
In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)
Today we cover 94 sayings form Proverbs 15 through 17. It is a series of sayings that instills the central concept of “wisdom” in short, general and sometimes contrasting terms, so that God’s people can work out the practical details of everyday situations and relationships. These proverbs provides instructions to deal successfully with the practical affairs of everyday life on how to relate to God, family, neighbours, authority, work and many more aspects in life.
However, the common thread we see woven throughout these chapters is the wisdom of God applied in these sayings, which provides a guidance to help us live a good life. We may plan the way we want to live but only God makes us able to live it. When we put God first, He will faithfully establish our steps for a life of health and prosperity.
Prayer:
Abba Father, we thank You for giving us Your wisdom so that we can live a godly lifestyle. We thank You for the proverbs that guide us in our behaviour, We want to always be faithful to Your instructions in our journey to live the good life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

The book of Proverbs is a book of Godly wisdom, in which the author often calls the readers “my child”, instructing them to live wisely by forsaking foolishness. The foundational key to acquire wisdom, as the author says, is the fear of the Lord. This book is a manual as well as an invitation for us to live a good, effective and abundant life.
