Albert Einstein said, “Learn from yesterday, live for today.” Thanking God for all you have learned is a great first step to seizing your best empty nesting days. With God’s help, make peace with your past. Release any unhealthy attachments of the yesterdays that are in the way of enjoying and living for today. It’s hard to embrace today with yesterday’s baggage weighing you down. Clean out any clutter that holds you back.
A real blessing is that you get more control over how you choose to spend your time. You’ve spent countless minutes and hours caring for your children. There are so many ways you can embrace today! Learn to enjoy your own company and savor your space. Deepen and reconnect with relationships you treasure and try new hobbies. Spend your waking moments with the Lord and experience His peace as you embrace the day.
Today and every day, cultivate an “attitude of gratitude” and be thankful. Each day is a gift. Notice the value in life’s simple pleasures. Find something beautiful to appreciate every day. Pray for positivity and purpose. Align your heart with His and ask him to show you “today’s way.”
