Now is a wonderful time to love well, right where you are.
Seek out special time each day to love the Lord. Worship and adore Him. Choose Bible plans, devotionals, and inspirational readings that will encourage and deepen your faith and nurture your relationship with Him. Play music that speaks to your soul. Thank Him for the gift of time and new opportunities. He loves when you make and take time to simply “be” with Him.
These empty nesting years are unique in that you can allow yourself time to “be” instead of “do”. You’ve spent many years “doing” — errands, chores and all the things that come with raising children. It’s time to allow yourself simply to “be.”
Aspire to love the Lord and those around you well. If you have a spouse, focus on loving them better. If that relationship needs help, consider seeking the counsel of others together. Together, you are meant to reflect Christ and love those around you as a team. You have neighbors you can bless and a community you can serve. A closer relationship with someone you love could be a phone call away.
Reach out and love those already around you even better. Start right now — today. Ask the Lord to show you daily how to best love Him and others. Fill your heart with the desire to love others as He loves you. He’ll love showing you how. After all, He IS love and is the author of love.
