Book of Romans

Day 6 of 8 • This day’s reading

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12: 2)

Do you know why Noah received God's favor? Because he was different. When everyone in his day turned from God, he chose to live righteously. What caused Abraham to be so blessed? Because he lived by faith and depended on God when others chose to rely on their own strength.

Why was Joseph used by God to be a great leader? Because he was obedient to the vision that God gave when his family did not believe in him. Then Daniel became the instrument of God to reveal the great power of God to the Babylonians, all because his loyalty to seek God's face when others feared the ruler's orders. There are many more characters in the Bible whose lives became testimonies for choosing to live differently from the world.

When a person abides with the Spirit of God, then he will not be affected by a lifestyle that is contrary to the word of God, nor allow it to pollute his life.

The struggle to live differently from the world is not an easy thing. But when we apply the values of the kingdom of God to every aspect of our lives, we step into a lifestyle that will bring great joy.

God's children are those who remain with Him and know Him.
