DAY 10 OF 11

A Life to Live

Deuteronomy 30:19

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.

God tirelessly reminded the Israelites that He offered them life and blessing. When they chose to obey God, it means they chose blessing and life. But when the people disobeyed Him, it means that they would lose God’s blessings.

You and I have also been given the ability to choose. It is called ‘free will’. But remember, for whatever choice you choose, there are always consequences.

For example, if you choose to obey your parents and follow their guidance, you will make them very happy. Not just that, you will also have a safe and happy life because your parents always know what is best for you. Your parents might even reward you with something. But when you choose to disobey them, they will scold or even punish you. It breaks their heart when they have to punish you, but they have to do it because of their love for you.

Choosing to obey God means choosing the path of life.  While choosing to disobey Him means, choosing the path of destruction and death. You make a lot of small choices every day, and with Jesus’ help, you will be able to make the right choice. Choose life so you can live.

Prayer

Dear God, please help me to make the right choices each day and to follow Your will for my life. Amen.
