Amadeo (Still My God)

DAY 2 OF 5

“No matter the battles I face”

The Christian life is a weird, unorthodox battle that varies in between the “seen” and the “unseen” realms of our lives. It’s amazing to me, after all these years of walking with the Lord, how much I didn’t know about what I was signing up for when I first said yes to Jesus. I’ve been walking with Jesus for over 30 years. As I look back at the years, there have been seasons of blessing, and during the same seasons, there have been various challenges and heartbreaking setbacks. In my recollection, there have been only a few time periods where I have not been up against some sort of struggle.

The nature of the battles has varied tremendously, from internal to external. I’ve experienced seasons of heavy personal temptation, insecurity, fear, stress, and tremendous doubt.  I’ve also had times where I’ve walked through situations full of great sadness, death, loss, and grief.  Most likely, each one of us could attest that at some point in our lives, we either have faced or are facing battles over our relationships, marriages,  finances, careers, health and families. Because we are human and live in the “uncertain”, we can be sure that we will always be on a battlefield until we go to be with the Lord.

1 Samuel says “And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people. This is the Lord’s battle!  Whatever battle you are facing today, whatever it looks like, whatever it feels like, be still and know that He is God and that He is overseeing the details of each step you are taking!  Stop wearing yourself out, trying to fight your battles on your own! Rest and look to God by meditating on His word! I can’t stress enough how important it is to daily, wash and renew our minds with reading and memorizing scripture. Know that He is greater than any battle you’ll ever encounter. Take heart because He has already overcome the world.
