“Life can take our breath away”
We live in an uncertain world, and because of the nature of our humanity, we are going to face uncertainties. There is nothing we can do to avoid the possibility of encountering a situation or season of life that has the “unknown” attached to it. Just by waking up each day, we are already stepping into a day full of potential uncertain outcomes. Life isn’t easy, and faith is definitely not easy either. Because of the uniqueness of our individuality, something that might seem catastrophic to one person, might be very menial to someone else. Whatever the situation is, the fact remains that uncertainties in life can be life altering events that have the potential to shake the core of our belief system.
Romans 8 assures us that “all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to his purposes." However, in the midst of tragedy and pain, this may be a difficult promise to cling to. Even though life has the potential to throw us a blistering dose of heart ache and pain, the truth remains that we can be still and know that he is God in every circumstance. It's in Him that we live and breathe and have our being. When life wants to take your breath away, remember where your breath came from in the first place. Only He gives and takes away, and we can trust him with every breath.
