#JESUS2020 - Daily Devotionals

DAY 8 OF 35

In one of the greatest divine rescues, God gives concrete indications as to what the Israelites should do. Find a flawless lamb and prepare it for one another. One aspect that strikes me in this text is that God uses the power of community to provide balance. If a lamb is too big for one family, they should share it among the neighbors. Presumably, God is not only concerned with keeping residual waste to a minimum but rather the individual's gaze should open up towards the neighbors. The one who has much should give to the one who has little. God's wish is social balance. Everyone should receive part of the Passover Lamb. It is only through community that the power that breaks boundaries is experienced.

ACTION STEP:

In a city like Berlin, we experience an enormous influx of people. In addition, more and more people complain that neighborhoods are becoming more anonymous. Many people have lost interest in taking care of each other. How well do you know your neighbors? Today you can make a difference by thinking about how you can intensify these relationships. Whether going shopping, going on an excursion, having a children's birthday party together or having a coffee date, you can influence your environment positively. Be courageous and follow through with your idea! Who knows what boundaries you can break by doing this.

About this Plan

#JESUS2020 - Daily Devotionals

The Lamb of God dies in Jerusalem, on a cross. Three days later He rose from the dead - sin and death are overcome. Two thousand years later, His blood sets me free. During the weeks before Easter, we want to acquire a deeper understanding of this fundamental event of our faith, get to know Jesus better and experience how His loving deed on the cross changes our lives forever.
