#JESUS2020 - Daily DevotionalsSample

Today we will focus on Palm Sunday again. The day before yesterday, we saw in John 21 that the people came towards the Messiah with palm branches. They honored and hailed Him with all their hearts, but Matthew shows us another little detail, and as so often, these details are so decisive. The people not only waved palm branches, but they also laid out their coats along the way. Just so a donkey could trample on them?
Of course, there is a deeper meaning behind this. Breaking off palm branches is one thing, they belong to the state, they do not cost anything. But putting your coat on the ground and letting it be trampled on, that is another league. This is something very personal. Worshipping God and waving palm branches is good and useful, but are you willing to give something to Jesus that really hurts? The goal of the #JESUS 2020 series is to enter into a new freedom. Freedom does not always only have to do with what God does for you, but also with what you are willing to give?
What are you ready to let go of? Where are you willing to pass on your financial abundance? Today, we do not want to think about what Jesus did for us, but about what we want to do for Him.
ACTION STEP:
Think about where you want to be generous today. To whom do you want to give financial support or a gift?

About this Plan

The Lamb of God dies in Jerusalem, on a cross. Three days later He rose from the dead - sin and death are overcome. Two thousand years later, His blood sets me free. During the weeks before Easter, we want to acquire a deeper understanding of this fundamental event of our faith, get to know Jesus better and experience how His loving deed on the cross changes our lives forever.
