GO2020 | ENGAGE: February Week 2: PRAYERSample

February 13—Simple and Powerful Prayer
Read
Luke 18:1-8
Reflect
Today we read about another desperate person who needs an answer. Jesus tells this parable to encourage us to be persistent in prayer. Prayer does not need to be elaborate, because a simple prayer that is direct and forthright will have its effect. The widow models persistent prayer, but how can we understand more about God through the example of the unjust judge? How does this encourage you to offer prayer on behalf of others?
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passages. Say or write them out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What do they say about God?
· What do they say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply these Scriptures to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verses, Luke 11:2-4. Spend a few minutes working to memorize them.

About this Plan

GO2020 is focused on mobilizing people to pray, but how should we pray? What should we pray for? This week we will discover how to pray as Jesus taught us.
