A New Strategy – Healing, Forgiving, and Feeding for Free

At the same time Jesus was converting the tax collectors He implemented other strategies to put the priest out of business.  He set about healing people for free in direct competition to the priests who charged hugely inflated prices for healing.  After He had healed them Jesus sent His patients to the Temple and told them to show the priests.  Another blow to the revenue streams of corruption.

Then Jesus began to forgive people for free right in front of the local priests and the Pharisees.  One more chunk of illegal revenue diverted from the idolatrous elite. The love of the Father continued to provide freedom to all people through their faith. 

And then He began to feed thousands of hungry people for free, restoring their physical strength and their confidence in the Kingdom.  Jesus proved to the people and to His disciples the Kingdom culture of caring and sharing was profitable for everyone by the amount of fishes and loaves left over being many times more than before the transaction.

And then Jesus mounted a direct assault on the Temple itself, bankrupting the crooked money changers and whipping the corrupt vendors of animals, all of whom were charging inflated prices and plundering their own people to enrich themselves. Jesus chased them out of the Court of Gentiles and into the streets of Jerusalem.

Then the final ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Himself, the crucifixion and resurrection, whereby the veil in the Temple was ripped and the power of the priests was forever broken.  The people were able to go boldly before the Father at last, no longer needing to bring the animal sacrifices, all through the blood of Jesus and His amazing assignment to set the people free. He had completed His assignment and given us a powerful example and strategies to follow to bring about freedom for all people around the world in the marketplace. The teachings of Jesus are a powerful foundation for us today as we seek to continue expanding the Kingdom and building upon the work that He completed through our work in the modern marketplace.
