Hands up if you know any perfect people out there? Well, I guess I can’t really see your hands, but you get the point. I don’t know any perfect people out there either…well, I do know of one, but he’s hosting the raddest party up in Heaven right now, and I can’t wait to join it!

The reality is that as Christians we’re all just imperfect people, trying our best to love Jesus and our neighbor, and sometimes we don’t do a great job of it. I’m often reminded though, that God isn’t actually looking for perfect people, he’s just looking for WILLING people.

Take Peter, who got to hang out with Jesus a bunch as one of his disciples. Peter was super confident that no matter what happened, he would always have Jesus’ back, even if everyone else failed. Guess what? Things got tough, and Peter did the very thing he was certain he’d never do, and denied even knowing Jesus. Not his brightest moment.

But here’s the best part of the story, fast forward to Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit shows up and empowers all the people meeting together that day. This huge crowd gathers outside the house wondering what all this means, and who steps up to preach a powerful message, and lead 3,000 people to Christ????...... PETER! How awesome is that!

The thing is, God doesn’t need perfect people, just willing people. So no matter what you’ve been through, no matter what someone has done, God can still use broken people like you and I to show love and positively impact the world!
