Perez — The Cycle Breaker.

“But he drew back his hand, and behold, his brother was born first. And she said, What a breaking forth you have made for yourself! Therefore his name was called Perez [breaking forth].” Genesis 38:29 AMPC

What cycle were you born to break? Perez was born to break cycles. He was born to break the cycle of familial dysfunction, deception and barrenness. Tamar, the cycle-breaker’s mother, experienced a series of traumatic life events. From experiencing betrayal to heart break, deception and defeat, isolation, rejection, shame, and abandonment, all plagued the life of Tamar — until the birth of Perez. Perez was born to break beyond mediocre barriers and overcome generational obstacles. 

Notice the birth of Perez in Genesis 38:28 KJV, “And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.” Another baby was positioned to come out first. Another baby was even prepped and marked to be born first. In fact, the other baby received the scarlet thread around its hand as it was coming out of the birth canal. “But then he pulled back his hand, and out came his brother! “What!” the midwife exclaimed. “How did you break out first?” So he was named Perez.” Genesis 38:29 NLT 

In this season, people will ask you, “How did you break out first?” Now is the time to give birth to that vision that’s been sitting on the shelf. Your Perez is about to be birthed. It’s your time to push out what has been waiting in the background. Your time is now! Push and execute.
