Day 1 of 3 • This day’s reading

There Are Twins In Your Womb.

“Now when the time came for her to be delivered, behold, there were twins in her womb.” Genesis 38:27 AMPC

Now is the time to give birth. Think about your journey and your process up to this very moment. Before the manifestation of the Promise, your maturation was necessary. You had to mature before the Promise could fully manifest. Behind every great breakthrough there is a tremendous journey. Tamar was pregnant with twins. What she had been carrying in her womb for some time now has now come to full term. Now was the time for Tamar to deliver what she had been promised. What was in Tamar’s belly would shift the course of her family’s legacy forever.

You see, Tamar was considered an outcast; she was a widow of two husbands — Er and Onan, both sons of Judah. After the death of her second husband Onan, Tamar was sent away by her father-in-law Judah and was instructed to wait and to remain a widow until Judah’s youngest son, Shelah, was old enough to marry.

Tamar waited for years, and when Judah’s son was old enough to marry, Judah unfortunately deceived Tamar by withholding his son.  Tamar had been widowed  two times over, deceived by someone she trusted dearly (her father in law) and now she was without a seed and without a legacy. She had waited for years in expectation and waited for what was promised to her to come to fruition, and yet she was deceived. She was still barren, without a harvest, and without a legacy.

You may feel like Tamar. You may have been waiting for years on a promise to come to fruition, and like Tamar, you’ve been hoping, you’ve been expecting, and you’ve had some close calls, but to no avail.  You have no fruit to show for your patience. You have no harvest to show for your obedience. There’s no promise, no baby, and no legacy to show for your steadfastness. But through Jesus Christ, your breakthrough is here and every cycle is broken and your full term has now come.

The Bible states in Isaiah 61:7 KJV, “For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” For your shame you shall have double. Don’t worry about your past; step into your future. Step into your promise. Double is waiting.
