Alive & ActiveSample

Words are powerful. They can make your day or ruin it! The same goes with the words of the Bible, so as you read them try and notice the repeated terms that the author has put in the books for you to find.
Today's scripture reading is the summary of the book of Matthew. Why? Because Matthew uses the word ‘fulfilled’ over and over again in his Gospel. The book of Matthew is the gateway from the Old Testament to the New. As you read it, let it come alive as you highlight the repeated term ‘fulfilled’. Matthew shows how the words of the prophet and the Old Testament are fulfilled in Christ and takes us on a journey of discovering each one. For us today, Jesus did not come to abolish your dreams, he came to fulfil them! He came so that you would have life and life in abundance.
Question: Why do you think Matthew used the word ‘fulfilled’? How does this show the faithfulness of God to his promises?

About this Plan

Alive and active are two incredible words, but would you say they are words that describe your Bible reading time? Or is your Bible reading time more sporadic and inconsistent, or disciplined and boring? Let your Bible come alive, transforming your thinking, setting you free, making you laugh, let it be all it is supposed to be.
