My Life As A Reality TV ShowSample

We learned about a really dysfunctional family that I want to review today. If you remember, Jacob and Esau are brothers. Jacob stole Esau’s blessing from him. When Jacob did this, Esau was obviously really upset. Think about someone who hurt you. Think about a time you got stabbed in the back by a friend or found out someone was talking behind your back. I would imagine you weren’t all that happy about it. Esau actually wanted to kill Jacob. Yet, somehow, Esau forgave him. We’re going to read that passage of scripture again today. But, something still seems kind of confusing… how did Esau find it in himself to forgive Jacob? Maybe Jacob realized that family is forever. He displayed the same forgiveness Jesus did when He died on the cross for us even though we didn’t deserve it. Not only did Esau forgive Jacob, but Jacob bows before Esau and seeks his forgiveness. Whether in your family or in a friendship, is there someone you need to forgive? Or, is there someone you need to seek forgiveness from?
