When the Holy Spirit lives inside of us, we become transformed as we look more like Jesus as a new creation. A lot of the things we might have been drawn to do before we found our hope in Jesus - like getting angry, being jealous, or gossiping - should be more readily recognized in our life as we continue to grow in our faith. As we grow, the Spirit gives us fruits. In today’s scripture, there are some fruits of the Spirit listed. Maybe the concept of the Holy Spirit living inside of you isn’t something you have ever even thought about. That’s okay! This is an opportunity to think about it. As we talk about fixing ourselves, we have to remember to fix our eyes on Jesus in order to be transformed. Some of these fruits of the Spirit might be ones you don’t feel like you have in your life. Maybe you feel like you’re not very loving or patient. As you read, think about what fruits of the Spirit you want to focus on growing in this week.
