I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living. (Genesis 24:3)

The Lord's command that man was to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth was always in Abraham’s mind, so that when he wanted to find a wife for his son Isaac, he gave a clear order to his servant to return to Abraham’s hometown and find a woman there and not from the place where he currently lived. To build a family as God intended, we need to know the kind of spouse we are looking for, both the values ​​that our spouse lives by and also his/her background. By having a deeper knowledge about our potential spouse, we can determine whether he/she is an ‘equally yoked’ partner.
