God is the Lord 

The Lord speaks through the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 9: 23 & 24, saying “Let not the wise man glory in His wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in His might, nor let the rich man glory in His riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that He understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth, for in these I delight,”. 

God wants our boasting to have roots in primarily knowing and understanding that He is the Lord. As Lord, we need to acknowledge, that He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, Almighty and an infinite God. It is imperative that we fathom the infinite greatness of our God with our finite minds. In Genesis 17, God revealed Himself to Abraham as being the Almighty God (El-Shaddai), The God who is more than sufficient and greater than anything. He commanded him to walk before Him and to be blameless. 

God desires that we walk in the firm assurance and confidence of knowing He is Almighty God. In our daily walk of life and in the face of challenges, He desires not that we be perturbed and anxious but rather be reminded of the wonderful promise in Psalms 46: 10 which states that ‘be still and know that I am God; that I will be exalted among the Heathen, among the nations, that I will be exalted in the earth’ 

In recollecting the greatness of our God, Isaiah the prophet declares ‘The Nations are like a drop in the bucket. He is the everlasting God who never faints, grows weary or tired; that all the nations before him are like nothing’. The infinite greatness of our God lies in the fact that He knows the innumerable number of stars by name. We also like Isaiah need to constantly declare and boast of the fact that we know such an Almighty, everlasting, eternal, sovereign, infinite and omnipotent God. 

May our Hearts be gripped in knowing and understand that this is who God is. 

Father we pray that as we journey through this day that our Hearts will be awakened to know how great you are how infinite you are. You are Almighty God you are the lord and we worship you. We rejoice, we boast that we know and understand that you are God. In Jesus name, Amen.
