Paul explains that the Day of the Lord’s return to judge the earth will come at an unexpected time, like a thief in the middle of the night. Those who have put their faith in Christ need not worry about these times and seasons because God will have removed His children from earth before this prophetic period of history begins. Sadly, those who are not in Christ will be unprotected from the increased intensity and frequency of suffering.

Your peace and security are in God’s faithful hands. You don’t need to fear the future because God’s justice will protect you from the judgment to come. God is faithful to keep His promises and protect His children.

Father, thank You for the promise of heaven. Help me to look forward to Your return and trust that You are totally in control of every day of my life.
