WISDOM
We are intelligent beings who often think that we know everything and can face anything the world has to offer. When we have problems, we are inclined to fix them ourselves, because we are trained to conquer everything by ourselves first, before we turn to ask for help from anybody, including God. To receive God's guidance, we have to seek his will in all we do. It is turning every area of our lives to him, including our values and priorities. We have to acknowledge him in every area of our lives. We must trust him completely in every choice we make. We shouldn't omit our careful thinking and God-given ability to reason, but we shouldn't trust our own ideas and exclude others.
Honoring God in every area of our lives includes giving to God’s use the first and best portion of the harvest. Giving to God our leftovers is not honoring God. We might be sincere and contribute willingly, but our attitude is not to be praised. It is best to give to God the first part of our income. It is showing that God has the first place in our lives. And it helps us conquer greed and opens us up to receive God's blessings.

About this Plan

Although the Proverbs seems like a loosely composed wisdom sayings, on a whole they actually present Christians with an opportunity to contemplate Christ who is wisdom in the flesh. The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
