Unshakable Hope - Courage

DAY 8 OF 77

Week 2:  Your Prayers Have Power: God's Promise Through Elijah

God's Promise: "When a believing person prays, great things happen." (James 5:16 NCV)

My Promise: I will make prayer my priority and passion

Deadlines and decisions dot your horizon. Appointments and phone calls fill your calendar. Illnesses and challenges occupy your mind. Responsibilities and requirements steal your sleep. Many mornings you push up your sleeves, take a deep breath, and simply decide to try harder. Then, more comes your way in every category. So your sleeves go up a little further, you grit your teeth, and you give it even more effort. When all else fails and you’re hanging on by a thread, you begin to turn to God in prayer. You even find yourself saying, “I guess all I can do now is pray.” Here’s a truth you may have forgotten. Prayer is not the last resort; it is the first step. God has power you’ve never seen, strength you’ve never known. He knows no limits and can handle every challenge. He is not only available. He is eager for our prayers. He delights when his children turn to him, and he can’t wait to hear your heart.

Unshakable Hope Declaration

We are building our lives on the promises of God. Because his Word is unbreakable, our hope is unshakable. We do not stand on the problems of life or the pain in life. We stand on the great and precious promises of God.
