The Heart of God 

In the Bible, we read about Jacob’s wife Rachel who was barren. Though she was loved more by Jacob, her barrenness would have definitely created a fear in her. With great grief she cried out, “Give me children, or I’ll die!” Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to the prayers of this barren woman and enabled her to conceive. She named her child Joseph, which means ‘to add’. 

Yes, accordingly God did not stop with Joseph but also blessed her with another son, Benjamin. Indeed, Joseph was a blessing from God. If you read about the life of Joseph, God blessed him and added blessing upon blessing because he feared the Lord. He received blessings from God and during the time of famine he became a blessing to the whole world and to his brothers who sold him as a slave. 

My beloved friend, this is the heart of God – to do good at all times for us. When you fear Him and flee from sin like Joseph who said, “How can I sin against God?” definitely He will rejoice in doing good to you. He will fill your treasury with His goodness. He will make you a blessing to many. This is a promise from God to you today. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, Your mercy endures forever. Hear my cries and answer me. You fill my cup and it runs over. Thank You for Your goodness and mercy that You shower on me. Give me the grace to stand against sin and flee from evil like Joseph did. I bind every evil force that draws me to sin in the name of Jesus, Amen.”
