Live Dead Joy: 30 Days of Living and Dying with Jesusគំរូ

“God’s Mission”
A creative God delights in His diverse creation: Arabs in the desert sipping mint tea; pale, skirted, alpha males in Scotland downing haggis; Nilotic Africans chugging curdled milk. God delights in them all and has apportioned them a place geographically and culturally. God created the people of this world “according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations” (Gen. 10:31–32).
Rather than worship God, people decided to worship themselves by “making a name.” Our jealous God does not tolerate worship of the unworthy, and so the only One worthy intervened. He inserted language differentiation and scattered the people groups across the earth. Not content to leave His people divided and devalued, as soon as He scattered them (Gen. 11), God revealed to Abram His plan to bless all peoples on earth. Abram would be blessed so that through his seed (Jesus, Gal. 3:16) all the people of the earth would be blessed.
In the fullness of time, Jesus was born and lived in Galilee of the Gentiles (Matt. 4:15–16) so those living in darkness might come to the light. Jesus established His right to rule and described the endgame: “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt. 24:14).
We are not the only ones to know this. Every demon in hell fights against the supremacy of Jesus. It was the declared deity of Jesus through His resurrection that inflamed religious leaders in Acts 4. Setting the model for all antichrist ideologies to follow, they tried to muzzle Christ’s followers from teaching or preaching in His name. This denial of Christ’s eminence—His deity—is transparent. The forces of our age are continually “against His Christ . . . against Your holy Servant Jesus” (Acts 4:26–27).
There are only two groups of people in the world: those who worship the divine Christ and those who rebel against Him. Like Abram, let us be people who leave what we know for what is uncomfortable. Let us make our way to the peoples who refuse to worship Jesus, pitch our tent, build our altars, and call on the name of the Lord. He will look on all threats against us and grant us boldness to speak His Word. We and the nations will be shaken.

Living dead is not original to us. Christians across time have been called to the crucified life. Looking to Jesus, we stumble in their footsteps - both grinning and grimacing as He stamps His image upon us. Hopefully, this portion of the daily devotional will encourage you to do the same. Each day includes readings from the Scriptures. The meditations will be most helpful if you follow the suggested readings. Join the conversation with other readers by using #livedead on social media.
