"In my P.E. class, everyone had to run a mile together. It was timed. I always thought I was the fastest person in the world when I ran by myself. With everyone running beside me, it became obvious that I was not the fastest runner. At the same time, I could see other people who were not running as fast as me.

While I was running the mile, it was easy to compare myself. And compare other people to each other and to me. Running the mile wasn’t even about seeing who was better or faster. And the truth is, when I was looking around at the others running around me, I took my eyes off the end goal, which was my own mile time. Just like that, it can be easy to take our eyes off of God when we are so focused on comparing ourselves to other people."

Today, think about how God has made you unique. Write those ways down on a sticky note or piece of paper and put it somewhere you’ll see it often. Whenever you need a reminder about who God has made you to be, read what you wrote on your note.
