The People of God: The Story of the Churchគំរូ

In the first passage for today, we have the shema , a call for the people of God to remember to love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. There is also a warning to make sure that when the people inherit the land that the Lord was giving to them that they do not forget their calling. They were to be stewards of this land and stand out as God’s representatives, his chosen people. God knew if they were influenced by the nations around, they would be tempted to compromise. Of course, this is a pertinent message for us as we attempt to live as the people of God today. How can we love God with all our heart, soul, and strength whilst not compromising on the cultures we live in?
