CANYONS 

This scripture in Ephesians is so powerful because it’s a prayer from the Apostle Paul for all believers. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul penned this prayer so that we would be reminded of the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. 

These verses are centered around God’s limitless love. Paul prayed that we could comprehend the width, the length, the height and depth of God’s love. He reminds us that Christ’s love surpasses all things! There is no limit. 

If you are anything like me, you might see some areas in your life that have yet to be touched by God’s grace and love. Maybe there are some deep places in your heart that are dry and longing to be filled by God’s love. 

The song Canyons was written because of this reality we all face. When we understand how much we need the love of God, we can then begin to comprehend it and receive through Christ. You see, God desires for us to be filled in our innermost being with His Spirit and with knowledge of our Savior, Jesus.

The dry places in our hearts are just like canyons. They are dry, deep, and needing to be filled. God’s love is just like a rushing waterfall. It overflows out of His heart and right into ours. The only thing that holds us back is our own resistance. But the moment you begin to seek and ask Him, He will fill those dry places in your heart. There is truly no limit to God’s love. It’s endless. He created us to be loved by Him and fulfilled by Him alone. 

There is something very powerful that happens to us when we open our hearts and sincerely seek God — we will step into the fullness of God. This is the richness of His Presence dwelling in our hearts. The Amplified Bible says it this way “completely filled and flooded with God Himself"!

Take a moment today and ask the Father to remove anything in your heart that might be hindering you from receiving Love. When you meet God one on one, in sincerity, you will be filled, satisfied, and amazed by Him. Press in and journal whatever God puts on your heart.
