For New Followers of Jesus - 30 Bible StudiesSample

Bible Study 1/30
A new journey
Get a few more friends (± 4) together and meet at least once a week to read the Bible, pray, and talk about what it means to be a follower of Jesus and how to obey what you have read. You can also do this One-on-one with someone who has become a follower of Jesus.
Key principle
We become followers of Jesus when we accept Him as our Saviour. From that point onwards, Jesus is the Lord of our lives, and several things happen:
- You become a child of God.
- God gives you a new spirit, and His Holy Spirit comes to live in you. The Bible refers to this as being born again (John 3:3-7).
- You move from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God.
- You make a decision that changes your eternal destination. God loves you so much that He wants you to be with Him in heaven, spending eternity with Him.
Key Scripture passages
John 1:12 (NASB2020) - 'But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.'
2 Corinthians 5:17 (BSB) – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
John 3:3 (BSB) - Jesus replied, "Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
2 Questions
1. What do we learn about God from these 3 Scripture passages? (How is God revealing Himself in these passages? What do we learn about His character, promises, works, the way He works, and His commands and promises?
2. What do we learn about ourselves or people from these Scripture passages? (What is God expecting from me? What must change in my life? How must I treat other people? What is God thinking about me? What responsibilities is God giving to me? Any warnings? Commands? Promises?)
2 Things to remember
Which two things stand out to you, and do you need to remember?
2 Practical things to do
Are there any friends of yours whom you could invite to participate in these Bible Studies with you?
Can you share what you learned with someone?
Pray together as a group: When we pray, we stand in God's presence. This is the most important conversation of your time together. Pray for one another's needs and for what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you through the Bible. Pray for each other's personal needs. Pray for the salvation of other people.
About this Plan

Every day, people come to Jesus and start to follow Him. Many of them do not receive follow-up. Nobody is taking care of them. Nobody helps them grow in their relationship with Jesus or explains to them what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Short: Nobody is discipling them. This plan will help you to that with young converts.
