Jesus commanded: Make disciples of all nations and pray for the harvest
Key principle
Matthew 28:18-20 was Jesus' final command to his disciples: Go and make disciples of all nations. This is often referred to as the Great Commission. This command is for all His followers. This is a command that the church, in general, doesn’t take seriously enough.
Key Scripture passages
Matthew 28:18-20 (BSB) - Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. (19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. (20) And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 9:35-38 (BSB) – (35) Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness. (36) When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (37) Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. (39) Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”
Command No.1
Matthew 28:18-20 is Jesus’ last command before He ascended into heaven. It is of utmost importance. Who is this command for? Does it include you?
There are four definite things in verse 19 that Jesus tells us to do. Identify them and pray about them. How will it change your life if you obey what Jesus commands in this verse?
Command No.2
Reread Matthew 9:35-38.
First question: To what extent do local churches and believers pray for the unsaved and the ingathering of the spiritual harvest?
The second question is: What role does praying for the 3 billion people still unreached with the gospel play in your prayer time?
Prayer
Ask the Holy Spirit where God the Father wants to use you in His kingdom.

About this Plan

Every day, people come to Jesus and start to follow Him. Many of them do not receive follow-up. Nobody is taking care of them. Nobody helps them grow in their relationship with Jesus or explains to them what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Short: Nobody is discipling them. This plan will help you to that with young converts.
