My Story

This is Part 1 of 3 of a study to help you share your personal testimony with people in a simple and practical way.

Key principle

When Jesus called the 12 disciples, he told them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Key verses

From now on, you will catch men (Luke 5:10, BSB).

Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19, BSB).

My Story

Today, we will learn how to share our personal testimony in One Minute.

Learn how to tell your personal story (My Story)of salvation to people in One Minute.

There are five very helpful steps for sharing your testimony in One Minute. We can also call it "My Story."

One of the most powerful resources of every Christian is the story of how they came to salvation. If we do this in the right way, it can be very effective. Most people tend to tell a long story. If we limit our testimony to One Minute, nearly everybody will listen and not be bored or offended. Our testimony often opens the door for further conversations.

The method used here is designed to help people share the gospel in an effective, comfortable, and enjoyable way. It is easy to learn and to help others to do the same.

One-minute testimony: My story

Step 1 – How to start a conversation

An easy way to start a conversation is to ask someone: What is the best thing that ever happened to you?

This is a non-threatening and open-ended question. Ask some questions about what they shared and show genuine interest in their responses. Please treat them with respect.

After they share their "best thing," you can ask, "May I tell you the best thing that happened to me?”

Tell the story of your own salvation in 60 seconds.

About this Plan

For New Followers of Jesus - 30 Bible Studies

Every day, people come to Jesus and start to follow Him. Many of them do not receive follow-up. Nobody is taking care of them. Nobody helps them grow in their relationship with Jesus or explains to them what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Short: Nobody is discipling them. This plan will help you to that with young converts.
