My Story
Bible Study 4 – Part 3/3
My Story in One Minute
Let us recap Part 2
1. Start with: What is the best thing that ever happened to you?
2. My life before I met Jesus.
3. How I met Jesus.
4. How my life changed after I met Jesus
5. Ask the question: Has something like this ever happened to you?
Homework: You will have to do it practically with several friends. Why not find 2-3 Christian friends and ask them if they can help you with this exercise, and to learn how to do it? Ask them how they “experienced” what you shared, and make some changes to do it better. Be sure to complete it within 60 seconds.
For instance, phone three people and ask who could give half an hour of their time. Tell them that you are taking a course and have some practical homework that would require 10 minutes of their time.
When you meet with them, start to talk in general and ask, 'What is the best thing that has ever happened to you? ' Do not tell the person when you will ask them to help you with your "homework." When you get to the end of your testimony, you tell them this was your homework. Ask them what you could do better.
Step 5: Has something like this ever happened to you?
When you finish your personal testimony, you can ask a straightforward question to help you create an opportunity to share "The Story of Jesus" with someone.
After you share what happened to you with the person, you can ask: Has something like this ever happened to you? This open-ended question is non-threatening and does not make the person feel that you have forced them to listen. It is also non-confrontational. Depending on the answer, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance on how to proceed with the conversation.
Start sharing your story with as many people as possible.

About this Plan

Every day, people come to Jesus and start to follow Him. Many of them do not receive follow-up. Nobody is taking care of them. Nobody helps them grow in their relationship with Jesus or explains to them what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Short: Nobody is discipling them. This plan will help you to that with young converts.
