PSALM ONE HUNDRED-FORTY-SEVEN
1O praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God, for praise is pleasant and becoming. #Psa. 33:1, 92:1, 135:3
2The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. #Deut. 30:3; Psa. 102:16
3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. #Psa. 51:17
4He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names. #Isa. 40:26
5Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. #Isa. 40:28; Nah. 1:3; Psa. 48:1
6The Lord lifts up the meek; He casts the wicked down to the ground. #Psa. 146:8
7Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises upon the lyres unto our God,
8Who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains. #Psa. 104:13; Job 38:26
9He gives the beasts their food and to the young ravens which cry. #Psa. 104:27; Job 38:41; Mat. 6:26
10He delights not in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. #Hos. 1:7; Psa. 33:16
11The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, who hope in His steadfast love.
12Glorify the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion,
13For He has made the bars of your gates strong; He has blessed your children within you.
14He makes peace within your borders and fills you with the finest of the wheat. #Isa. 60:17-18; Psa. 132:15
15He sends forth His commandment upon earth; His word runs very swiftly. #Psa. 107:20
16He gives snow like wool; He scatters the hoarfrost like ashes. #Job 37:6
17He casts forth His ice like crumbs. Who can stand before His cold?
18He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. #Job 37:10
19He declares His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel. #Deut. 33:4; Mal. 4:4; Psa. 76:1
20He has not done so with any other nation; and as for his ordinances, they have not known them. O praise the Lord! #Rom. 3:1-2
