"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favourable year of the Lord's grace."*

But Jesus answered him, "It is written: 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone you shall serve.'"*

But Jesus answered him, "It is written in Scripture: 'Man shall not live by bread alone.'"*

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

Jesus answered him, "It has been said: 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'"*

When the devil had finished every form and type of temptation, he withdrew from Jesus to wait for a more opportune time.

Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant of time. The devil said to Him, "I will give You all this authority and glory, for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all this will be Yours." But Jesus answered him, "It is written: 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone you shall serve.'"*

Then the devil brought Jesus to Jerusalem and set Him on the highest point of the temple. He said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here, for it is written: 'He will command His angels concerning You, to guard You,' and 'On their hands they will bear You up, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.'" Jesus answered him, "It has been said: 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'"*
