Jesus showed God’s love, care and power when he stopped a storm or fed 5,000 hungry people. Most often, though, Jesus’ “miracles” were when he made people well. Last time, we left the Roman army officer at his villa, while his Jewish friends went to ask Jesus for help. He wanted a miracle: his servant was dying and he wanted Jesus to come and heal him. How many miracles in the Bible can you think of? Do you know of any miracles that have happened in your lifetime? Stretch your brain and see how many of Jesus’ miracles you can remember. How many did you think of? Jesus was quick to agree to go to the Roman’s house, but before he got there, some more messengers arrived from the officer. The Roman is asking Jesus NOT to come.
