“Your salvation requires you to turn back to Me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves.  Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on Me.  The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do.”  -Isaiah 30:15 MSG 

• Can we earn God’s Spiritual blessing?
• Can we earn our inheritance?  
• Can we earn our rest?

Scripture gives an emphatic NO!

That is the offense of the gospel.  The good news is that the work is complete in Christ.  There is nothing we can do to add to or take away from it.  Men find this offensive because we are driven to accomplish and achieve.  In Paul’s day, some taught that circumcision was a requirement for salvation.  They were trying to earn God’s blessing without resting in Jesus.

A gospel that must be earned is a gospel that can not save.
