Dahil dito, sinabi niya sa tagapag-alaga ng ubasan, ‘Tatlong taon na akong pumaparito at naghahanap ng bunga sa punong ito, ngunit wala akong makita. Putulin mo na't nakakasikip lang iyan!’ Ngunit sumagot ang tagapag-alaga, ‘Huwag po muna nating putulin ngayon. Huhukayan ko po ang palibot at lalagyan ng pataba, baka sakaling mamunga na sa susunod na taon. Kung hindi pa, saka po ninyo ipaputol.’”
