Shackles of Guilt 

Once I received a letter asking, “How do I know that God has forgiven my sins?” If this is a question in your heart too, read on and receive deliverance. My friend, God’s love does not change. When a person goes against God, it is the Holy Spirit who convicts them of their status of righteousness in God. So, they surrender their hearts to God and apologise for their folly. But, still if a person feels remorse in their heart, then they have a guilty conscience. It is fed by the devil who subtly whispers to them, “God does not love you. He will not forget this sin. He will never leave you unpunished for this crime. You can expect punishment in any form.” When they fall a prey to his words, they remain in their guilt. Guilt is an iron shackle in your mind, which hinders you from receiving God’s goodness. It never allows you to move forward. Though the ‘door of blessing’ is already open for you, you will sit at the entrance anxiously pleading for your needs. 

My beloved, if you confess your sins, the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all your sins. Remember, Jesus is interceding for you always. Know that you are already “forgiven” on the cross. So, be assured of God’s love for you at all times. Meditate upon God’s love and be free of guilt. 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I thank You for opening my eyes towards Your perfect love. I thank You for Jesus who is the perfect High Priest is pleading for me. Help me not to fall into temptation again. Help me to enjoy all goodness in store for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
