Abide With God 

During my school days, I heard a story which taught me that unity is strength. A father had three sons. When he was about to die, he sent for his three sons. He had a bundle of twigs with him. He asked the eldest son to break the bundle. He tried hard but could not break the twigs as a bundle. The other two sons also tried to do the same thing, but failed. Then he called all the three of them near and gave them the twigs, one each, from the bundle. They broke them easily and soon the whole bundle was broken. Then he told them, “If you are united like this bundle of firewood, nobody can separate you; no force can overcome you. But if you begin to live separately, without unity, you will be broken very easily.” 

This is very true in your relationship with God. When you abide in God, the devil cannot have his way in your life. The given verse is a prayer made by Jesus for all believers so that they will abide with God as One. If Jesus has prayed this prayer for you, how vital it is for us to abide in Him. How do we abide in Him? Meditating on His word, singing His praises, worshipping Him and doing everything for His glory will make you to abide in Him. Abide in Him and enjoy His presence. Prayer

“Loving Father, I praise Your holy name. I need You every moment of my life. Take me to deeper levels in my spiritual growth. Draw me closer to You. I bind every dark force that comes against this oneness with my Lord. I choose to spend quality time with my Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
