In a certain Church, a young man was keenly interested in all the Church activities and was an active member of that Church. The Church members had strong faith in the miraculous healing power of the Lord and if any of them fell ill, they would pray with faith for healing. Once, one of the members fell seriously ill, and as usual, they kept him in the Church and persisted in praying for him. But that person died eventually. This incident shook the faith of the young man and he began murmuring against the Lord. He completely lost faith in God and thus denied Him. Even today, though he has become old, he still has no faith. He has lost every blessing in life because of his lack of faith. 

My dear friend, what about you? How often do you murmur because of facing failures or ordinary problems in life saying, “Alas! How happy all the others are! Why is it that only I should face such problems? Why do I have to face failure and disappointments?” Thus, we lose the presence of the Lord, because of our murmuring and loss of faith. Friend, it is quite natural that difficulties will arise in everyone’s life. Look at Job, the god-fearing, saintly man, who said “though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him” This is genuine faith. Always be filled with the presence of the Lord and never lose your faith in Him. The Lord will certainly bless you and uplift you. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, I thank You for speaking to me through Your word today. Let me not murmur in the most difficult times but rather praise You with all my heart. Lord, I bind every evil spirit that hinders my faith in You. Let Your Holy Spirit guide me and help me to keep my faith. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
