The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation
Reflection
Though it was written long before the birth of Christ, we have such a beautiful, worshipful and prophetic message in Psalm 98.
In the Old Testament, God’s children understood and rejoiced in what they saw in their lifetime that would lead to the promise of salvation with Jesus. Even in their brokenness, sin, and doubt there was a hope of reuniting with God again in a new way.
The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
And though Psalm 98 is a prophetic psalm, it also applies to today, to us. We live in a fallen world that has been saved by the grace of God through His son. Our hope is in the promises fulfilled and the ones yet to be.
God does not hide His intentions or plans for the future. We rejoice in knowing that, just as God guided the path for the coming of His Son for our sins, so He guides it now to the second coming. The battle has been won. Death is overcome. Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Almighty God, we clap our hands and sing praises and worship you today, for you alone have seen the end from the beginning. Thank you for making the way of salvation known through the coming of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
Advent Action
Sing a worship song to the Lord today. In your car, in your home or right where you are, make a joyful noise to him.
