Chapter 12

Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath. He healed a man’s hand on the Sabbath and the Pharisees began to conspire to destroy Him. Sin against the Holy Spirit is described. You will know people by their fruits. His family are those who do the will of God.

Chapter 13

Because the crowd was so large, Jesus preached from a boat. He told the parable of the sower. Some seeds fall on good soil and produce a crop, some do not. Jesus explained to His disciples why He preached in parables. Then, He explained the parable of the sower to His disciples. Next, He told the parables about the weeds, the mustard seed, the hidden treasure in the field, the pearl of great value, and the net. Jesus was rejected in His hometown of Nazareth, and His brothers are named by the townspeople.

Chapter 14

Because Herod had beheaded John the Baptist, he thought Jesus was John the Baptist raised from the dead. Jesus fed 5,000 from 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes. Jesus walked on water after He prayed on the mountain. Peter also walked on the water until he became afraid and lacked faith. When Jesus got into the boat, the disciples worshiped Him as the Son of God.
