STAND UP AND MOVE
Life can be intense at times. We all experience loss, grief, and hardships from time to time. For young Joshua, this was the loss of his mentor and leader, Moses. Moses was an important figure to the Israelites. He represented deliverance and the presence of God. God knew that His people would need another leader, and so He spoke to Joshua.
The instruction was clear; arise and go. Isn’t this a strange thing to ask of someone who just lost a loved one? But God’s ways are not our ways. When we face a challenge, God expects us to rise to the occasion, not wallow in defeat.
It’s interesting that when bad things happen, time doesn’t stop. God provides other opportunities for change with the movement of time. Today, don’t dwell on the former things; God is set to do something new. Get up and move. Do something. Read a new book. Start a new project. Join an activity group in church. Start saving your money. Be a better listener. Get up and get moving. May the Lord help you as you take bold steps of faith in Jesus’ name. Amen.
✦ Repeat after me ✦
Lord Jesus, thank you for this brand new day and new opportunity to make progress. Thank you for giving me the strength and boldness to take on new territory. Father, help me to always be in alignment with you as I go about my day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
