Purity

DAY 1 OF 3

God as a Pure Being

In this first study we begin by establishing the fundamental fact that the God we serve as Christians is pure and holy. This serves as the hinge upon which this entire series stands. The reason the Bible calls us as Christians to be pure and holy is because our God is holy.

A. Purity as a part of God's Personality and Essence

  1. How does Exodus 20:3-4 project God as a pure Being?
  2. How does the idea of God being a jealous God reflect His nature as pure? Exo.20:5;Joshua 24:19
  3. If a word as strong as jealous is used to describe how God guards His purity, to what extent should you as a child of God maintain purity?
  4. Do children of God guard their purity to this extend today? Why do you think so?
  5. From each of these passages, state something pertaining to God that is holy(pure):
  • Leviticus 22:32,Luke 1:49
  • Psalm 11:4
  • Psalm 47:8
  • Psalm 77:13
  • Psalm 105:42;Luke 1:72
  • Jeremiah 23:9

About this Plan

Purity

One of the clearest and easiest ways to identify a child of God is by his/her lifestyle. The Church, by definition, is the assembly of called-out ones. These called-out ones are those who have a relationship with Christ and have decided, on that basis, not to live in or participate in the contamination of this world. This set of people does not have to tell you that they are Christians for you to know that they are. But by their lifestyle and conduct, they are known.
