Comparing Scripture with Scripture means using the whole Bible to interpret individual passages. Clear passages help explain difficult ones, and no doctrine is built on a single verse.
This matters because Scripture is consistent. When properly compared, it confirms itself and eliminates confusion. This approach ensures balance and guards against error.
When this principle is ignored, people isolate verses and build doctrines that are incomplete or incorrect. This leads to imbalance and misunderstanding.
DAILY EXERCISE
Choose a topic.
Find at least three different Scriptures that speak about it and compare them.
PRAYER
Father, help me to understand Your Word by comparing Scripture with Scripture. Let me see the full picture of Your truth. I pray for believers, students, leaders, and families across Nigeria that they will grow in balanced understanding. Lord, we ask that across nations, Your Word will be interpreted with consistency. Strengthen the Church worldwide in truth.
