DAY 16 OF 31

May 16 – Desiring the Word

Desiring the Word refers to a deep hunger for Scripture. It is an inner craving for truth that drives a believer to seek God’s Word consistently. This desire is not accidental; it grows through exposure and intentional pursuit.

This matters because desire fuels discipline. Without desire, engagement becomes forced and short-lived. When the Word is genuinely desired, time and effort are willingly invested in it.

When the desire for Scripture is absent, other things take priority. Distractions increase, and spiritual appetite weakens. This leads to stagnation and reduced sensitivity to truth.

DAILY EXERCISE
Evaluate what currently competes for your attention.
Reduce one distraction and replace its time with the Scriptures.

PRAYER
Father, stir a deep hunger for Your Word within me. Let my desire for Scripture grow daily. I pray for believers, students, families, and leaders across Nigeria that they will hunger for Your Word. Lord, we ask that across nations, people will seek Your truth. Let the Church worldwide develop a strong desire for Scripture.

CONFESSION
I hunger for God’s Word. I desire Scripture and pursue it daily.
