What If?

DAY 2 OF 5

What if God meets you in the sound of your breaking?

I love the sight of an F-22 Raptor breaking the sound barrier. It displays pure potential-a force like no other. As it approaches the speed required to break through, that jet undergoes intense pressure and G-forces. Forces so great that if it's steered or manoeuvred incorrectly, it could be destroyed in an instant. Yet from the ground, much of that strain is invisible to the human eye. And that's the reality of many lives around us. There are pressures people carry that you cannot see.

Much like the enemy, who often works beneath the surface, camouflaged, subtle, deceiving, waiting for moments of weakness. Not every battle is loud. Not every struggle is visible. Not all pain is seen. Even on Sundays, in places meant for peace, people walk in:
- Smiling, but breaking in private
- Providing for others, while barely holding themselves together
- Standing strong for others, but silently exhausted
And sometimes, the only prayer left inside is not words-it's a cry.

The beauty of Isaiah 30:19 is that God does not wait for perfect theology, structured prayers, or composed emotions; He responds to the sound of your cry. This reveals something deeply theological about the nature of God:
- He is not distant from human suffering—
- He is attentive to it.

That means:
- your tears are a language He understands
- your silence is not empty to Him
- your sighs are not overlooked

Even when your faith feels weak…
even when your words fail…
even when all you have is breath and brokenness…
God hears.

Scripture even reminds us that when we don’t know what to pray, the Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26). Which means heaven is never silent toward a surrendered heart—even when you feel like you are. God is not moved by performance. He is moved by authentic surrender.

Just like that jet under pressure, there are moments in life where the strain you carry feels unbearable.

Financial pressure.
Emotional weight.
Family responsibility.
Disappointment.
Physical pain.
Silent battles with anxiety, fear, or doubt.

From the outside, you may look composed. But inside, you feel like you're at your limit. Yet here is the paradox of the Kingdom: Pressure does not push God away—it draws Him near.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”

Not distant. Not observing from afar. But close. Your lowest place is not where God abandons you. It is often where you become most aware of His presence.

What if?
Your breaking point is not where God steps away... but where He draws nearest?
Or if the cry you've been trying to hold back... is actually the doorway to experiencing His Grace?
