Absolute Value

DAY 7 OF 7

JESUS: ABSOLUTE VALUE REVEALED ON THE CROSS

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 (NKJV)

We arrive at the culminating point of this plan: Jesus. In Him, the concept of absolute value reaches its highest and eternal expression. If in Abraham we saw faith, in Joseph purpose, in David identity, in Esther courage, and in Mary obedience, in Jesus we see the supreme value: the value of a life completely surrendered in love.

Absolute value is not defined by what one receives, but by what one is willing to give. Jesus did not come to prove His power; He came to reveal the heart of the Father. From the manger to the cross, every step of His life proclaimed an unshakable truth: the human being has immeasurable value to God.

Jesus knew who He was. He knew where He came from and where He was going. Therefore, no one could take away His identity. Absolute value begins with clear identity. When you know who you are in God, you can face rejection without losing direction.

He was rejected by His own, misunderstood by religious leaders, and abandoned by many of His disciples. Yet Jesus did not deviate. Because His value did not depend on human acceptance, but on the Father’s love. Absolute value remains firm even when everyone else walks away.

The cross was not an accident; it was a decision. Jesus declared, “No one takes My life from Me, but I lay it down.” This reveals a profound truth: absolute value is not victimhood—it is voluntary surrender. He chose to love to the very end.

In Gethsemane, Jesus faced the most intense struggle: human will versus divine purpose. He sweat drops of blood. He felt anguish. Yet there He sealed the most powerful act of absolute value: “Not My will, but Yours be done.”

Jesus did not die because He was weak; He died because He was obedient. Absolute value does not flee from sacrifice when sacrifice is the path to redemption.

On the cross, Jesus was stripped of everything: dignity, honor, recognition. He was counted among criminals. He was mocked. Yet in that moment of apparent defeat, the greatest victory in history was taking place. Absolute value is often manifested when everything seems lost.

While men saw failure, heaven saw fulfillment. While hell celebrated, God was reconciling the world to Himself. The cross teaches us that absolute value is not measured by the moment, but by eternal purpose.

Jesus died to declare something definitive: your life is worth His blood. Not because of what you have done, but because of who you are to the Father. The cross is the eternal proof that your value is non-negotiable.

But the story does not end at the cross. On the third day, Jesus rose again. The resurrection confirms that absolute value is always vindicated by God. It may pass through death, silence, and darkness—but it never ends in defeat.

Jesus now lives, and in Him, you also can live. Absolute value is not only contemplated—it is received. When you receive Christ, you receive a new identity, a new life, and a new value.

This plan ends here, but the calling begins now. To live with absolute value is to live:

Firm in the truth
Surrendered to the Father’s will
Anchored in your identity in Christ
Willing to love—even when it costs

Jesus is absolute value incarnate. And in Him, you discover how much you are truly worth.

Answer the Reflection Question

Are you willing to surrender your life to Christ and live from the absolute value He has already paid for you?

Pray

Jesus, today I acknowledge that You are absolute value revealed. Thank You for loving me to the cross and for giving Your life for me. Today I surrender my heart, my will, and my future into Your hands. I declare that my value is not in what I do, but in what You have done for me. Teach me to live a life surrendered, steadfast, and full of purpose. In Your name, amen.
