Paul writes to churches in Galatia, which Paul also started. Paul is writing to assure them that they can only come to God through Jesus' death. However, Jesus' death didn't give them the freedom to sin, but freedom from sin. We can sometimes feel sin is fun and freedom would be doing bad things just for the fun of it. The view here is that sin is bondage. Jesus not only brought forgiveness, He allowed the Holy Spirit to free us from bondage to sin. We also have each other for support in overcoming our tendency to move toward that bondage.
