The Promise

John, the author of Revelation, spent a great deal of time talking about all of the things that are to come when Christ returns. For our purpose, however, let us focus on who will be around the throne and why they are around that throne.

Take a minute to meditate on Revelation 7:9.

This great multitude of people are made in God’s image, created for His glory, and each one has responded to the incredible news of the Gospel. They are our brothers and sisters. Some were once Muslims, Animists, Hindus, Buddhists, or Atheists. Some are from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Oceania. No matter their background, all have been redeemed by God for His eternal purpose and global glory.

This is the crescendo of the plan that started in Genesis 12. A number of people that could not be counted, like the stars in the sky or the sand from all the beaches (Gen. 22:15-18, Hebrews 11:8-12), around the throne of God, worshiping the Lamb of God! What an incredible and magnificent picture of God’s worthiness and glory.

Over three billion people are unreached with the gospel. This means they do not have the opportunity to gather around the throne or to worship Jesus here and now. May we be people who use our access to the gospel to reach those who are without the hope of the gospel.

Prayer:

Lord, please raise up workers for the harvest. Lord, please show me my role. Show me how to be a part of providing Gospel access to the unreached.
