The Person

From the beginning, God’s plan to redeem the world was driven by His heart for the people He created. Because God created all people to bear His image, every person has inherent value and worth. God’s desire is for all people to be reached with the message of His mercy and grace that comes through Jesus Christ.

Because of Jesus, we who are in Christ have received adoption into God’s family (Galatians 4:5). However, although this blessing is available to all people, Much of the world still has no access to the gospel.

Just as God called Abraham’s family to be a blessing to the nations, God calls us, the Church, to bless the nations with the message of the gift of His Son. Jesus is the living fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham, and in Christ, we are heirs of this very hope. God’s promise is clear: people from every nation on earth will be blessed because of Jesus Christ (Genesis 12:3). Yet today there are still entire groups of people with no access to this incredible blessing.

Jesus said of Himself: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:35-45). We serve a God who ransomed us with His very life. In His grace, He desires to use us to bring the gospel to others. The unreached peoples of the world need to know about the love of Jesus, who will reconcile them to the Father.

Prayer:

Lord, Your ways are good. What you have set in motion cannot be stopped —the Gospel will go to the ends of the earth. Thank you for the privilege of being a part of Your Church. Help me begin to understand what my role might be in this mission.

• Will you spend some time today meditating on the love of a Father who sent His Son for you?
• Will you ask the Lord to reveal more and more of His heart to you, including His heart for the unreached?
